This season is all about colour, flashbacks to different eras and loads of different prints. The trends have started on designer catwalks and ended up being adapted and tweaked and are now in the high street. All of the magazines are jam-packed with trends you should follow but to be honest, I'm not going to follow every single ones of these trends. Some of them are a little too out there for me and don't go with my personal style. In autumn and winter, I usually just stick with my trusty leather jacket I got from Dublin, jeans and converse - but this season there are too many nice things to say no to! Here are just a few trends and my opinion of them.
Spots, Stripes & the swingin' sixties.
This retro style is perfect for everyone to sink their teeth into. The shift dresses are flattering for every shape. The colours of the dresses make them easy to create an outfit with them, even if its just adding a black belt, to a pink shift dress with a black quilted bag for a vintagey feel to the outfit. You can make it your own... Look in charity shops too! You'll usually find loads of sixties inspired stuff in there. Also, there is no need for break your neck heels as this trend's shoe motto is "the smaller the heel, the more stylish that you are.
1970's.
In the 1970s it was all about prints and colour. Get a sophisticated, classy look by pairing flare jeans with a loose, vivid blouse and to top it off, a cute floppy hat. Mix it up with trends from the 21st Century to update this timeless trend. You could even get creative with DIY by cutting and sewing things you already have in your wardrobe.
Golden Tones.
Add sunshine to a rainy autumn day with this colour scheme. An ultimate pick-me-up for guiding you through the dark, damp, December days.
Sequins.
All eyes will be on you if you carry out this trend. Dresses covered in sequins really remind me of Christmas but screams statement and at least you don't have to do anything in the accessories department...
Sheers
Sheer continues to be a trend that literally nobody misses out on. Teaming jeans with a sheer top for a summery look, that is wearable in autumn or a body-con skirt for a night or or party - this is easily adapted to the cold weather by adding tights.
Dots&Spots.
Spots tie in with the 1960s style - they'll spruce up the darkest of outfits with a pop by adding just a spotty scarf. Spotty dresses can be dressed up and down and give a classy feel to even shorts and a t-shirt.
Emerald Green.
Forget Emerald City, just rock the Emerald colour trend. I instantly fell in love with this dress from Warehouse, when it was featured in Look Magazine but I'm afraid its a little pricey for me! This lovely, flattering midi skirt from Dorothy Perkins is more in my price range. It would add a pop of colour in a fun way to anyone's wardrobe. If these are too bright, still try the trend by adding a Emerald bag, or shoes.
Emerald Button Dress, Warehouse, £68 (I can't find the link)
Boyish.
Not boyfriend style this season, just bow ties! This has to be one of my favourite trends this season. 3/4 length trousers are a good way to try loads of different trends, like these Mustard ones below and if you're feeling a little more daring, try... pink?
If some of these trends are a bit too much to handle, try these:
